انگریزی مصنف تھامس کارلائل کی کتاب "ہیرو اینڈ ہیرو ورشپ" کا ایک باب حضرت محمد مصطفی (صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم) پر بھی تحریر کیا گیا ہے۔ جس کا اردو زبان میں ترجمہ پروفیسر محمد اعظم نے کیا ہے۔
کارلائل نے رسول اللہؐ کی شخصیت پر لکھتے ہوئے آپؐ کی تقدیس اور پاکی بیان کرنے میں ایسا عجیب و غریب رنگ استعمال کیا ہے جو قریب قریب اسلامی رنگ کے ہو گیا ہے اور ایسا معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ گویا کوئی مسلمان مصنف یہ سیرت لکھ رہا ہے۔ تھامس کارلائل لکھتے ہیں کہ محمد رسولؐ امین اور صادق ہیں جنہوں نے انسانیت کو خیر عظیم عنایت فرمائی۔
On Heroes, Hero Worship, and the Heroic in History is a series of lectures later published in a book form by Thomas Carlyle, a Scottish Philosopher of Victorian era contributed to literary world with his famous works include Signs of the Times The Victorian Web, The French Revolution: A History, Chartism, Latter-Day Pamphlets and The Early kings of Norway.
On Heroes, Hero Worship explores the author’s belief on importance of heroic leadership, and compares different type of heroes who influenced the society to large extent in the fields of philosophy, literary, religion, politics such as William Shakespeare, Prophet Muhammad, Napoleon, Dante and many more. Of all the heroes Muhammad is accorded a special place to whom the author admires and comment as 'how one man single-handedly, could weld warring tribes and wandering Bedouins into a most powerful and civilized nation in less than two decades .
